Larry Gelbart is the comic genius who developed M*A*S*H, one of the longest running, most beloved TV series in history. He’s a much-admired member of that memorable gaggle of writers, which included Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner and Neil Simon, who wrote for Sid Caesar. He is one of our nations sharpest and most respected satirists from his critically acclaimed HBO movies, “Barbarians At The Gate,” “Weapons Of Mass Distraction” & “Starring Pancho Villa As Himself” -- to his “unintended trilogy” of scathing political plays; “Mastergate,” “Floodgate” & “Abrogate.” Larry has won eight WGA awards and two Emmys. He received Oscar noms for "Oh God!" and "Tootsie." He also received Tony awards for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum" and "City of Angels." The WGA awarded him its Paddy Chayefsky Laurel Award for Television for lifetime achievement in 1981. He was also awarded the Humanitas Prize and Peabody Awards for his work on "MASH" along with the Pacific Broadcasting Pioneer Award for Creativity and Achievement in Radio and Television. In April, 2008 Larry was named as an inductee in the Television Hall Of Fame -- the same month his new play, “Better Late” opened to rarve reviews in Chicago.
David Jablin is a critically acclaimed, award-winning producer & director who played a pivotal role in the creation of original programming for Pay-Cable. He created and produced the ground-breaking comedy anthology series, “Likely Stories” for HBO/Cinemax, which featured the directing debuts of Rob Reiner, Danny DeVito, Christopher Guest, and Billy Crystal. He co-conceived the story for and produced Showtime network's very first original film, “The Ratings Game,” which starred Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman. The project marked DeVito's feature length directing debut, as well as garnering a WGA Award for Best Original TV Comedy Movie, and an International TV Movie Festival Award for Best Comedy. During Jablin's long-term association with the network, he continued to produce and direct unique comedy films and specials that received multiple ACE Awards and achieved both critical acclaim & ratings successes for the premium channel. His film, “Public Enemy #2” was selected by Time Magazine as one of the 10 Best of TV for the year. It was the only original cable production to make that prestigious list. His production of Larry Gelbart’s “Mastergate” was named the Best Television Movie by Entertainment Weekly. He is currently developing the feature film satire, “High Alert,” to be directed by film legend, Norman Jewison.
